Grief and Loss
Grieving any significant loss is one of life’s most difficult challenges. You may find yourself with mixed emotions such as sadness, joy, relief, pain, anger, or anxiety. You may feel like your world has been turned upside down. Perhaps you want help but do not know where to begin or what to do.
Each person has unique emotional experiences and way of coping, grieving, reacting, or not reacting to loss. Anticipation of the impact of loss or trauma can trigger the grief process to begin, such as a cancer diagnosis or threat of layoffs at work. Sudden, violent, or unexpected loss or trauma imposes additional strains on coping.
Grief counseling involves walking with you through the grief process at your own pace. You discover where in the process you are and what you can expect as you navigate the grief cycle.
